PRIMED-AI: Data-to-Model Academic-Industrial Partnerships (D2M-AIP) for Precision Medicine with AI: Integrating Imaging with Multimodal Data (UG3/UH3 Clinical Trial Optional)

National Institutes of Health

Description

The overarching goal of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) and its companion opportunities is to establish the Precision Medicine with AI: Integrating Imaging with Multimodal Data (PRIMED-AI) Program to support development of innovative, reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable multimodal AI-based clinical decision support (CDS) tools. PRIMED-AI CDS tools are based on the integration of clinical imaging with other types of multimodal health data to enhance care for patients with a wide range of health conditions. The PRIMED-AI Program seeks to catalyze the adoption of AI-based CDS tools into clinical workflows to enable novel personalized medicine strategies that address significant health challenges. The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to catalyze the development and testing of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled, image-centered, multimodal Clinical Decision Support (CDS) tools, developed in pursuance as Software as a Medical Device (SaMD). These projects are expected to have high potential for demonstrable, positive impact on patient outcomes and/or healthcare processes.

Award
Up to $680,000
Deadline
Feb 5, 2027

The purpose of the R01 grant program is to (1) improve understanding of the risks and conditions associated with occupational diseases and injuries, (2) identify and evaluate methods to reduce risks and prevent or minimize exposure to hazardous workplace conditions, and (3) translate scientific findings into practical prevention strategies, interventions, and products that reduce work-related illnesses and injuries. The Research Project Grant (R01) supports a discrete, specified research project in scientific areas that reflect the investigator's expertise and interests and that align with the mission of NIOSH. Applicants must concisely describe the occupational health problem their proposal addresses and explain how the proposed research activities will lead to outputs that help address this problem. Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health (R01 Clinical Trial Optional)

National Institutes of Health

Award
Varies
Deadline
Jan 7, 2028

The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to support studies that will identify, develop, and/or test strategies for overcoming barriers to the adoption, adaptation, integration, sustainability, scale-up, and spread of evidence-based interventions, practices, programs, tools, treatments, guidelines, and policies (hereafter referred to as evidence-based interventions). Conversely, there is a benefit in understanding circumstances that create a need to stop or reduce (de-implement) the use of practices that are ineffective, unproven, low-value, or harmful. In addition, studies to advance dissemination and implementation research methods and measures are encouraged. Applications that focus on re-implementation of evidence-based health services that may be disrupted amidst disasters (e.g., pandemics) remain relevant. All applications must be within the scope of the mission of one of the Institutes/Centers listed above.

Mechanisms that Impact Cancer Risk with Use of Incretin Mimetics (R01 Clinical Trial Optional)

National Institutes of Health

Award
Varies
Deadline
Jan 7, 2027

The goal of the proposed funding announcement is twofold, to promote preclinical and patient based studies examining the mechanism(s) through which incretin mimetics (including agonists or antagonists of GLP-1, GIP-1, or dual GLP-1/GIP-1 agents) impact cancer risk, and to draw talented scientists who understand the dynamic changes caused by these agents to investigate the mechanisms of how these agents influence cancer risk rather than shorter term outcomes such as weight loss and diabetes. The data thus far suggests that these agents may increase the risk of some, while decreasing the risk of other obesity related cancers.
