Notice of Intent to Publish a Request for Concept Notes Announcement on Capacity Development for the Reception & Placement Program

Bureau of Population Refugees and Migration

Description

PRM intends to issue a request for concept notes on or around April 28, 2022 to fund specialized technical assistance projects to develop and expand the capacity of existing and new partners participating in and contributing to? the Reception and Placement Program (R&P) to resettle refugees admitted to the United States through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program. The goal of this initiative is to improve outcomes for refugees resettled through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, including by building the capacity of and expanding the group of partners providing technical expertise and other support. The purpose of these technical assistance projects will be to increase the capacity of resettlement agencies, their affiliates, community partners, and new participating organizations to provide initial reception and placement services to refugees within the first 30 to 90 days of their arrival in the United States. The request for concept notes will invite proposals on technical assistance projects that address one or more of the following capacity building topics: identifying and developing new and innovative housing programs for newly arriving refugees; deepening community engagement in refugee resettlement, including through the use of community sponsorship programs; supporting and facilitating the entry of new partner organizations to participate in R&P; strengthening the ability of current R&P partners and/or communities to successfully resettle refugees, as well as to expand their capacity and resources as needed. PRM welcomes applications from organizations who have not traditionally participated in the R&P program. Organizations may apply to this anticipated request for concept notes as individual organizations or as consortia. For consortia, one organization must be designated as the lead applicant at both the concept note and full proposal stage, as applicable. Applicants may form consortia in order to bring together organizations with varied expertise to propose a comprehensive program in one proposal. The request for concept notes will be posted on grants.gov , and applications in response to this future posting must be submitted through grants.gov .

County-wide and Regional Funding Program

State Water Resources Control Board

Award
Varies
Deadline
Rolling

The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) has identified a need for regional programs that address drought related and contamination issues for state small water systems (state smalls) and domestic wells serving disadvantaged communities (DACs) and low-income households. The State Water Board has funding available from various sources within the Safe and Affordable Funding for Equity and Resilience (SAFER) Program to fund drinking water projects that address drought-related and contamination issues. Although we have several programs already in place, we have identified gaps for regional programs that address the needs of households served by state smalls and domestic wells throughout the State.  DFA does not award funding directly to households, and available DFA funding to address emergency needs of state smalls and domestic wells can’t be implemented on an immediate basis. One key goal of this program is to award funding to counties or their partners to enable them to setup programs proactively, based on anticipated needs, and therefore be ready to respond promptly when urgent needs arise.

HEAL Initiative: Integrative Management of chronic Pain and OUD for Whole Recovery (IMPOWR) - Building Engagement, Assistance, Capacity, Outreach, and Networks (BEACON) Center (U2C Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

National Institutes of Health

Award
Varies
Deadline
Jan 26, 2027

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to renew the Integrative Management of chronic Pain and OUD for Whole Recovery (IMPOWR) research network. This renewal consists of individual research projects, which will be supported by a single Coordination Center. This network is intended to test new innovations that integrate evidence based treatments for chronic pain (CP) and opioid use disorder (OUD). This research will characterize or modify factors that impact wide-scale adoption and sustained use of effective treatments at this intersection. The network will be part of the NIH’s Helping to End Addiction Long-term (HEAL®) Initiative to speed the development and implementation of scientific solutions to the national opioid public health crisis. The NIH HEAL Initiative will bolster research across NIH to (1) improve treatment and prevention of opioid misuse and OUD and (2) enhance pain management. This notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) seeks applications for a single Building Engagement, Assistance, Capacity, Outreach, and Networks (BEACON) Center. The BEACON Center will provide overall network coordination support; research education activities to build capacity at the intersection of CP, OUD, and implementation science; annual survey/qualitative activities to understand different barriers and attitudes impacting access and sustained use of integrated CP and OUD service delivery; and develop key resources for stakeholders that can inform/improve sustainability and scalability of evidence-based practices, including findings and resources from IMPOWR Phase I.
